Even though the Virginia Beach City Public Schools wanted to make sure that the legacy of PACTS/UKHS was preserved, the school was demolished in 2007 to make way for The Renaissance Academy, a $65.2 million facility for secondary alternative programs. However, with the help of a committee that included school division officials and PACTS/UKHS alumni, the architectural plans for The Renaissance Academy contained a physical commemoration of PACTS/UKHS arranged in an exhibit museum area including a replication of the Union Kempsville High School auditorium. The Renaissance Academy and PACTS/UKHS Museum opened in 2010.
